OnlySunshine
WAAAAAAAAH. The closest showing to where I live is almost 2 hours away. Does anyone know of any movies that are in English with really good acting? As much as I love the St. Therese, St. Maria Goretti, and St. Rita movies...the acting/dub acting is TERRIBLE.
Unfortunately, I realized last night that it's showing on the same night that one of my other ministries is meeting. GAH! I gotta get out of it but how? DiscerningCatholic
Okay, so I've added St. Rita into my list of favorite saints. (She's the patron saint of hopeless causes...a perfect saint for a person like me! ) The list of things that she did before she entered the convent at the age of 36...let's see. Got married, had two kids, witnessed the murder of her husband and then her children, forgave her husband's killers... And of course, I love the movie about her. (Even though quite a bit of it is inaccurate.) Chiquitunga
The Scarlet and the Black is awesome! http://www.ignatius....-the-black.aspx All in English, great acting, based on a true story, full of suspense one of my absolute favorites!!! (edit: it was mentioned already by Slappo here too) Also, yes, Teresa de Los Andes is in Spanish, but the acting is super amazing!!! You're going to want to see this Discerning! And yes, all 6 or so hours of it! p.s. also Romero was mentioned (English + great acting) which is very very good too!!
This movie was totally worth it! I loved every minute of it, especially the conversion scene. It was heartfelt and thought provoking. I had tears in my eyes during that scene because I could totally relate to it. I hope St. Augustine would be pleased with the movie if he saw it. I highly recommend you see this movie if you get the chance.
DemonSlayer
The only 2 good Catholic saint films I've watched are Brother Sun, Sister Moon and A Man For All Seasons.
