Hey everyone. I wanted to post this prayer request for my Grandpa. My Grandpa's name is Richard. Anyway, he has had two heart attacks within the past thirty days. His first heart attack was on September 22, 2012. He also had another heart attack on October 5, 2012. My Grandpa has a very strong history of heart disease. He had his first heart attack in the 1980s when I was still a very young child. I am not entirely sure if I was even born yet but I think I was.

My Grandpa also has Type 2 Diabetes and Emphysema. He used to smoke very heavily but he quit cold turkey in the 1980s. Unfortunately the damage was already done and he is still suffering from the consequences of it.

My Grandpa is also an Air Force veteran. He was a Master Sergeant in the Air Force and was a Flight Engineer. Thankfully he has very good health insurance and other benefits due to his 20-something years in the Air Force. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He is 79 years old.

Earlier this year around February or March he was hospitalized with what was possibly a stroke but turned out to be a benign cyst on his brain which had swelled somewhat and was causing him a lot of problems.

My Grandpa does believe in God but he is not a Catholic. I guess you could best describe him as a Universalist. He does not believe in Hell.

Tomorrow my Grandpa has to undergo another heart catheterization. They did one catheterization a few days after he had his first heart attack on September 22nd of this year (not the first heart attack ever but the first this year). They removed one clot but they were unable to remove another. I think they are simply trying to check out the condition of his heart with this catheterization.

I would like to ask for prayers that this other clot would go away on its own or with the help of medication. I would also like to request prayers for the conversion of my Grandpa. Thank you very much.
