carmenchristi
So I've arrived. Everything has gone well so far. Now I need to find a job that fits some pretty tough criteria. It has to be weekends only, pay at least 40-50 euros a day and leave me flexible Saturday evening and Sunday morning to play some Masses. I also have to find a church that will pay me to play...I mentioned that to someone who said " you think they will PAY you to play??" Geez, I'm only dedicating my life to sacred music.... At least they can pay me enough to survive on!!! Anyway, please pray for me! List here any intentions you may have and if you want me to offer them in any particular place (main holy sites only please... I won't have the possibility to be going out and about much or off to thecatexombs.....but if you want to put your order on hold then We can do that too! Lol thanks everyone!!!! Egidio
Can you speak italian? If so, let me know, I might (and it may come to nothing) have a contact for you to find work playing in a church. I am assuming that you are an orgainist. Praying that all will work out. I might be able to drag some girls along with me to form a schola. I'm willing to do sacristy too if anyone needs it. Let me know. Even the slightest info is helpful at this point. Thanks so much. Remembering you in prayer for the kind thought.
carmenchristi
Update on where I am and what I'm doing: So I've just been posting quickly from my phone, but since I've finally logged in from a computer I figured I'd let everyone know about how things are going. I haven't started school yet, still have another week. That's goood beause I have so much to do in order to get settled and I'm studying for a big audition that I HAVE to pass otherwise I get sent home! I'm staying at a place called the St. Cecilia Community. It's pretty cool... it is a community (as in a group, no juridical associations) of students, all women, mostly lay people who study theology and related subjects. This community was founded after V2 in order to give women a chance to study theology. It's a great balance between structure and freedom. Especilly for someone like me who is trying to find that balance. There are monthly or bi-weekly get togethers in which (so I've been told) we share what has been going on with school and such and plan things like retreats and conferences and the like. We have vespers in common and usually everyone is back for dinner. So the good thing about its that everyone tries to make it to the appointments, but no one is breathing down anyone's neck if you don't show up every so often or even a couple times a week. I think I'm going to make a lot of new friends, everyone is really nice. I feel like I am able to get my life in order, prioritize and give the right amount of time and space to each thing, whether it be prayer, study, work, fun or rest (food might be a different story.. I'm trying to eat right, but it's not the end of the world if I loose a few pounds). Well, that's all for now. I'm dead tired... still kinda jet lagged and have been running around lot! More updates to come!
