Amppax
Not sure if this question merits this board, but I was wondering if a rosary that had the scapular basically where the crucifix is would be considered a valid scapular. I've seen them around here at Franciscan, and was curious.
Theoketos
Off the top of my head, I think I recall seeing a norm somewhere saying that a carmelite brown scapular worn for that particular devotion involving skipping purgatory could be wool or metal. (BTW That indulgence involves things like saying the rosary or other Marian prayers daily and complete or total contrition for your sins... plus other stuff few do.) Not sure where I read but I am certain it was in 2002ish in the library at Benedictine College. So I could be way off. If that were true, were such a thing would fit the norms of the scapular. Hey, this is a free service. DUST does not even return my tools or give me shirts anymore, so you get what you pay for. That being said, and this is just my personal opinion, either do not wear the rosary/scapular, wear it so others do not see it, or join an order in which Christ mandated your founder and their order to wear one. That way the sins of pride, vanity and others mentioned by our Lord in the Sermon on the Mount are avoided.
