Croat
Many of my female friends on facebook have to a various degree immodest profile pictures and when they like or comment something on my profile other people can see these pictures and maybe get scandalized. Am I too responsible for this or is it solely my firends guilt? I think my friends would find themselves offended if I would block them from my friend list because most of them do not even understand what modesty is. What should I do? Am I obligated to take action? Should I close my facebook profile? Can this be a matter grave enough for a mortal sin?
CatherineM
I have had the same issue. I'm afraid that Canon Law hasn't kept up with some of the stuff we deal with on a daily basis. Here's what I do. When there is a picture that I find offensive, I simply never comment on their updates. That keeps them off mine. If I have something I want to say, I personal message it to the person and tell them why I'm doing it. I've had a couple take the photo down and tell me they never thought about it. I mention something about I never post pictures like that out of fear my great nieces and nephews will one day see it. I also tell them it is daring of them since their future employers will have access to them. Some people never think before they post, and it can be a charity to them to point out stuff like this.
