[size=5][sup]SGK had initially stopped their Planned Parenthood funding last year, but because of the media storm against them backed away from their position. They still provide funding to Planned Parenthood (I think for Mamograms). [/sup]

[sup]I have a friend who is doing the walk for the cure, and I feel guilty not showing my support for what she's doing -- but I don't feel guilty about not giving my money to SGK.[/sup][/size]

I don't like companies who have no backbone. Breaking under the pressure of the media shows what kind of leadership Susan G. Komen is directed by, especially since this is an all-important issue. Breaking under the pressure of not supporting Pepsi versus Coke is one thing, but abortion is an important issue that affects everyone in our society.

Even without PP, SGK is a bunch of thugs who are undeserving of donations. They attack anyone who uses the word "Cure" in relation to cancer fundraising, even little kids doing streetcorner fundraising.

I get so tired of seeing pink all month. :ohno:
[/quote]

You only see it this month? I'm used to seeing advertisements all year.

It's so annoying and if you don't support them you're seen as a cruel person who wants people to die of breast cancer.

You could always donate to a different cancer research foundation and tell her that you support her intentions that way. :idontknow:

Yes, all year, but they really crank it up in October-- a month that is just about every other color but pink.

You know that's a possibility. Unless she's really gun-ho about Komen. Then uh-oh. I'll pray and see what I should do.

Thanks for the suggestion :).
