Any Oblates On Here.

Hello. I am wondering if there are any Oblates on here. I have been looking at this vocation and would value some insights. I have, initially, been looking at Benedictine Oblates but can't seem to find anything on the obligations of Oblates, how they live their rule etc.
I am also interested in other Oblates in anyone has any experience of them.

I know the Passionists have oblates and the ones associated with the Passionist Nuns in Whitesville, KY are very active.

Since Benedictine monasteries are independent, what they expect from their Oblates varies somewhat.

The abbey where I am an Oblate asks for the following:

1. The daily practice of contemplative prayer (specifically Lectio Divina and some portion of the Divine Office prayed in the spirit of Lectio Divina).

2. Prayer for the community and work of the abbey, especially for vocations.

3. Regular reception of the sacraments (daily reception of the Eucharist, if possible, and regular celebration of Reconciliation).

4. Simplificaton of life (keep that which is suffcient and generously share with others the spiritual and material abundance with which one has been blessed by God; simplify your schedule in order to have clear time for God).

5. Regular participation in the life of the Oblate community.

6. Regular participation in the life of the monastic community (visits and retreats at the abbey).

And, of course, following the Rule of St, Benedict as far as your state in life allows.
