Annie12
woah. One thing i have noticed here and elsewhere on PM is a belief that you need to be married young. Maybe it is just because they see other people have premarital relations and having the logical thought of "I cant do that now, I need to be married first", and then the illogical thought of "I need to be married now". getting married at 18 these days is generally a bad idea. not to say it hasnt worked out before, and that it wont do so again in the future, but it isnt a great thing to aim for. Maturity levels are far below even what they will be in a few years from now, financial security is simply not there, etc etc. Have fun in your youth, look for friends and possibly a boyfriend to spend time with. Chances are good you wont marry them, but that doesnt really matter. Especially at your age if you go looking for a husband you are probably not going to be very successful.
This is a good point. I totally agree with you. But I think the reason many young relationships don't last is because they are not founded on Christ and often times are too sexualized.. The less you do while dating the better the marriage will be. I also think that if God leads someone to their spouse at an younger age, then I don't think a person should be hesitant of marriage. Jesus should be in the lead and the couple should surrender to his will. Any relationship should be Christ centered and should not be self seeking. I know married couples that were married in their teens, not religous, and are still happily married 35+ years later. I also know good 'Catholic' couples that haven't made it 2, 10, or 15 years. There is a lot more required of both persons in a marriage than the belief that a God led them to each other.
