Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Lil Red

Recommended Posts

is October 15. Ask your parish to sponsor something for that day for all parents out there who have experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS or death of a newborn. Part of being a pro-life community, I believe, is supporting parents who have gone through a miscarriage/stillbirth, etc. The USCCB does have blessings for parents who have suffered a miscarriage, and possibly could be adapted for a liturgy on that day.

Thanks for sharing this :) I've joined the pro-life group on campus, so will share this event with them. Maybe we can organise some kind of event.

Small Bird Studios has done some great profile pictures & timeline photos for October 15:

*bump*

this day is coming up fast. I asked my parish too late last year to do something. So this year, I'm asking them even earlier.

Thank you for this. My sister-in-law, who had a miscarriage back in April, was just speaking about how she felt so alone afterwards. This would surely help her in the healing process

I want to share this on my facebook! But I feel like doing it this early is too early.

I really like the Small Bird Studios page you linked us to! I think this is a really great cause because amidst all the joy new baby announcements splattered all over FB, you never know how many women are suffering in silence. :(

Mentioned this to a non-Phatmasser friend this morning, and she immediately said, Let's pray a rosary together that day for the babies and families.

So we will be praying... anyone up for joining us?   :pm:

Please pray for all babies who have died and their families, especially Oct 15; if you can light a candle at 7pm your own local time for an hour that would be awesome.
