What Is Love

hermit

Recommended Posts

According to Aquinas - I can't quote chapter & verse, but I read it somewhere -

Love is wanting what is best for the other person.

Now. What is best for the other person? Discuss.

We are young, heartache to heartache we stand No promises, no demands love is a battlefield Woah, we are strong, no one can tell us we're wrong Searching our hearts for so long, both of us knowing Love is a battlefield...

Society's understanding of love is a feeling, and once that feeling has gone you have "fallen out of love". Your relationship/marriage should be fixed or ditched as soon as possible if this feeling fades away. But that is not really love, it's simply a feeling. Love is a choice, it's an action - not a feeling. For instance, Jason Evert says a man may not feel that honeymoon feeling when he is woken up by his seventh month pregnant wife at five in the morning to get her some food, but it is an act and choice of love that motivates him to do so.

What that picture isn't showing you is that lion just jumped on that zebra and it is tackling it down so he can eat it alive, which is why the zebra seems to be standing straight up and the lion is at an angle. Or this is photo-shopped.

Oh. I thought that the zebra and lion were actually sharing a romantic embrace while standing on their hind legs.

It's okay. The beautiful ones are always dumb. But at least you have the pleasure of random men singing "Heyyyyyyy, smexy lady!" to you.

Wrong. Disney would never allow Simba to do that.

"But dad, don't we eat the zebra?" (Or was it some other weird deer-like creature? I can't remember)
