I think that all phatmassers should post on this thread.

Its for Catherine's kid Zach.

Its that alot of hands make work light. Work of helping him become who he wants to be.

So. I'm going to put a voulentary toll on my work place's water cooler. 10cents suggested per glass to raise money for Chairty water to help other poor kids live.

He's at Cadets right now. He couldn't go to school today and just rested. He has the apartment to himself because his roommate was at work. I haven't told you guys about him. His name is Will. He's from Guatemala. His mom has a brittle bone disease so bad that she has lost a leg because it shattered so badly. He needed a cheap place to live because he helps support his mom and three younger siblings. He does the mowing and light maintenance around here for us in exchange for his rent.

Zack had so many siblings that he isn't used to being alone. We put James in another unit upstairs because the social worker didn't want him to live with Zack since he's on probation. So we tried to find a nice guy to room with him. That its someone who also needs a hand up is a plus. We've been very blessed and can't take it with us.

The belief of karma is Buddhist and Hindi, it refers to circumstances derived from the actions in previous lives, therefore its kind of impossible to tie it in with our "dudes Vincent or Francis or Mother Theresa " or even our "Catholic people "

I didn't fully understand hotpink's opening post either, but it's obvious that the intention is kind. Why so picky? Remember that hotpink isn't Catholic and he can't be expected to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of everything that we believe.

It's lovely that you think of Zach, hotpink, and that his situation has inspired you to think of ways to help other kids in difficulty. The water cooler idea sounds good. You could perhaps donate the money to organisations that are working to provide water for communities who don't have enough. Some children are unable to go to school because fetching water is an essential daily chore, and they have to walk so far to get it.

But all your guys are different. Why can't they have similiarities to Buddhists or Hindi's or Mormons or other Christians? I mean didn't they all do nice things? Don't you all believe in something...even if it's miracles.

Yes, but we do not believe in karma or reincarnation.

I believe in karma with a little "k". Meaning what goes around comes around not the theological idea that we slog around through repeated lives carrying our sins.

I have children of my own who are just like I was. I definately believe in "what goes around, comes around."

I like that. It's what I really mean. Like if all of us commit to doing something for someone. And maybe get our school or office or if your like a mom or something get your kids involved. For those with like 5 little kids, it just may be not killing them.

If we all do enough what goes around comes around we can do it for Zach. Like put enough good in the whole world that this kid who keeps getting all the bad in the world gets some of the good we are all trying to do.
