abercius24
Hey Guys, I'm not as connected as some of you younger folk as far as internet culture is concerned. Because of that, I'm having trouble finding good forums for my own preferred points of discussion. Can anyone recommend good websites for politics and general Catholic culture (apart from Phatmass) where I can get "into it" without people getting bored with an intellectual discussion? Nihil Obstat
I'll just show you what I visit daily. What Does The Prayer Really Say? - Fr. Z - Father Z is hands down my favourite Catholic blogger. Solid, traditional priest, who pushes hard for a return to Catholic identity and liturgical restoration. Frequent exhortations to confession, and he knows lots of funny stories from his days in the CDF and in Rome. Rorate Caeli - Generalist blog on Catholic traditionalism. New Advent - This is basically a 'Catholic front page'. It links every day to a bunch of what they consider to be the best blog posts at that particular time. Usually there are at least two or three solid articles, and for someone with different tastes than me perhaps they would enjoy most of them. New Liturgical Movement - Excellent blog with several eminent authors. They talk a lot about sacred architecture, art, and music, as well as vestments, and in general anything related to the re-discovery of our Catholic liturgical identity. I also have a soft spot for DICI, which I cannot post a link to here because it is directly affiliated with the SSPX. I appreciate their perspective, and they often run stories there that I will not find elsewhere. Chant Cafe - Great blog on the subject of Catholic sacred music, especially Gregorian chant, which calls for a return to the traditions of plainchant, especially chanted propers. I especially love this one because Jeffrey Tucker is a regular poster, and he is an excellent guy. And then, of course, the very best Catholic blog in the blogosphere is Imprimatur! Nah, not really. That is my blog. I just figured I should throw in a plug. Edited September 24, 2012 by Nihil Obstat

abercius24
Nice! Thanks Nihil! I appreciate those recommendations! I am particularly looking into places to bounce my own ideas off of, so Trisha, your idea of Google + might be more of what I'm looking for. I figured it was the same as Facebook, but Facebook isn't very politics/religious-discussion friendly, if you know what I mean.
