Prayer

So, we always pray for stuff we want to happen or to get but what are the "logistics" of prayer? When I pray for something I want and add but "thy will be done Lord" am I essentially saying God's will should happen and my whole prayer that I just said didn't even matter? I'm confused about this. If this is how we pray there really is only one prayer; "let thy will be done oh, Lord!". Right? God doesn't conform his will around our will does he? I'm probably over analyzing this but help would be nice! :saint2:

It's a late answer...but what I think about this is that God wants to give us some graces but He expects to ask Him for. For exemple, God wants to give someone the grace to discover his vocation (I need it too  ) but He will do this only after a lot of prayers from that person who is seeking light. And we need to pray for concret things, to present our needs to God like a child who says to his parents: I'm thirsty, I'm hungry, I want a toy, etc.The prayer ,,thy will be done" comes at the end, when we accept whatever the Lord wants in that particular situation (like the prayer of Jesus in the garden). I don't think that God always answers our prayers like we would want to, but if we pray we can obtain a gift that He desires to make us and who was expecting only the request to come in our lifes.
