Mary+Immaculate<3
Could you please recommend some music that I could put on iTunes. I am not too into rap, hip-hop, pop, or heavy metal, and would like it to be something that doesn't have any profanities and/or suggestive content. I was thinking more along the lines of, I don't even know. Help me out! p.s. I like Christian music

PhuturePriest
U2 is my favorite band. They are Christian, and a lot of their earlier stuff has Christian themes. Here is their best album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmPrgkShNHE I also recommend Josh Groban and Michael Buble.

Basilisa Marie
Five Iron Frenzy was a Christian ska band. Reliant K has the same feel, but with less ska. Edited September 23, 2012 by Basilisa Marie

Slappo
You could go with some of teh classics: Bing Crosby Frank Sinatra Englebirt Humperdink Louis Armstrong Dean Martin Or you could go with some praise and worship: Jeremy Camp David Crowder Matt Maher Jesse Manibusan Casting Crowns Or you could go with general Christian music: U2 DCTalk Five Iron Frenzy Reliant K Jars of Clay Ceili Rain There's tons of music out there. How it ends is one of there biggest songs but I'd recommend listening to the others ones too since each song they do can be really different. http://youtu.be/pRAI87PbX8c Edited September 23, 2012 by Oliver
BigJon16
My recommendations for you: The Fray -- A modern piano-pop band made up of Christians who felt a call from God to express their faith through music within the secular market. Most of their songs don't out right mention "God" per say, but the messages are great. Matt Maher -- One of the top Contemporary Christians Artists of our day. The best part: in a genre that is 99.5% dominated by protestant artists, Matt is a Roman Catholic, and many of his songs reflect that. Makes common appearances at Catholic Youth conferences (CYC's). His biggest hit, "Alive Again" is inspired by the writings of Saint Augustine. Audrey Assad -- Im not a huge fan of her, but what I have heard of her is amazing. She is a contemporary of Matt Maher, and tours with him a lot. Mumford and Sons --A secular folk-rock band that has taken the world by storm. Their songs have many many faith themed messages that connect especially with many Christians that I know, including myself. Warning: Some of their songs may have profanity, but the messages are still great. Mercy Me -- Protestant Contemporary Christian band. They are just floopin amesome. Coldplay -- just a good band, I guess. Not necessarily Christian or anything, although I do sometimes make connections with the messages of their songs. Jesus Culture Hillsong United -- Two absolutely amazing Christian worship bands. Just absolutely fantastic. Br. John Klein -- A Legionary of Christ studying to become a priest. He originally majored in music down south, planning on becoming a producer. But God had other plans, and now he uses his talent to lead people closer to Christ. Ike Ndolo - The brother of Matt Maher's bassist, Ike Ndolo is great at blending Catholic Christian themes with a bluesy, deep southern sound. Also appears quite regularly at CYC's. Needtobreathe -- An amazing, foot stomping, heart pounding, God loving band. They have songs that are about loving God, and others that are just about living life to the fullest. All of their songs point to the fact that those two things are one in the same, and can be done at the same time. One of my favorites. Paul Vogrinc -- An Alum of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Paul is a protege of Bob Rice, the amesome songwriter/youth speaker/professor famous with the Steubenville Youth Conferences. Paul wrote the last theme song of the youth conferences, "The Eighth Day." Paul has an amesome song about Mother Mary, titled "Run to Her." Some of his songs are influenced by none other than GK Chesterton. Fr. Pontifex, Manchild, Akalyte, Sammy Blaze, Fr. Stan Fortuna, and the rest of the Phatmass Crew. -- I know you said that you are not really a fan of Rap/Hip-Hop. I am not either, but I am a HUGE fan of these guys. Fueled by orthodoxy and the Holy Spirit all of these guys take on the modern train wreck that is Hip Hop, and shut it down by infusing Catholic amesomeness and themes with crazy dope rhymes and beats. Plus the idea of rapping priests makes me feel all good and googly inside and stuff. Edited September 23, 2012 by BigJon16
