Renewing Temporary Vows Question

These are all wonderful answers and well researched. Remember that each Order does follow their own Constitutions and even within the same Order (like Carmelites), there are customs specific to that particular monastery.

As someone with deat fends in cloistered life,, I often struggle with not being in "better" contact than I am, so I understand your yearning to hear from SMC. However, it is good to remember that her first commitment is to her vocation and too much Internet inference would clearly take her away from the life of prayer she has dedicated herself to - again, I am guilty of this myself but we must try not to tempt our Sisters in Christ from deviating from their vocation.

That's a good point, SNJM and one I was honestly feeling a bit guilty about after starting the thread  I think I was being impatient, as I could just wait to ask a Prioress in Carmel directly. I will see about getting the title edited.. In the meantime, we've been blessed to have Orans answer the main question very well instead :)

I don't think putting Sister's name in the title will 'tempt' her away from her vocation and onto the internet. Like AnneLine said, she is busy and most likely hasn't had the time to look at VS or be on the internet at all. When she does have the time, I am sure she will drop by this thread, as she is very helpful. :)

Well considering that vocations to the Summit Dominicans have had first contact with Sister on phatmass... I think it is more of a way to reach out and develop relationships with those who have potential vocations to her community.... rather than a temptation.

Knowing Sr. Mary Catharine, I do not think we have anything to worry about in regards to "tempting" her away from her primary vocation. It is not like she is sitting at her computer all day waiting and reading every single post in order to see if she should respond to something. She has a structured horarium and Novices and postulants to take care of. :)
