To Jesus Through Mary
I an hoping to find someone who can help a grina out. I have started to have an on going discussion with someone that works next door to my work. He is a fallen away Catholic. We have had an on-going discussion about the Saints. Which happens frequently here. Only problem, it's in Spanish! And my Spanish is at a 4yr old level right now. Our discussion came to a screeching halt today when I really couldn't figure out how to put what I needed to say. And to make the situation even more complicated the guy he works with is into Santaria but tells his friends (the one I am talking with) that he is Catholic. So I am looking for one of two things, does anyone know of a solid apologetic thing I could print up and give to him about the Saints (specifically a response to the typically arguments about graven images and only praying through Jesus) and something on sola scriptura, or would someone be willing to translate something I would write. Either one would work fine. Edited September 18, 2012 by To Jesus Through Mary

cmaD2006
There is also a book I would get my hands on to give to him: La Iglesia Catolica y las Sectas: Preguntas y Respuestas. It is by Fr. Amatulli Valente -- founder of the "Misioneros de La Palabra". It is a small question and answer book about the faith (includes brief answers to what we believe about the saints, etc). Finally -- there is a wonderful bookstore in NY (in Woodside, NY ... I think Brooklyn but I'm not really sure). It is called Libreria Catolica Shalom. They have all sorts of books in spanish, and may be able to help you with that sort of resource. They are great. I just placed a phone order with them, and visited them once. They do have an apologetics section (if I remember right).
To Jesus Through Mary
Ok- so I am going to be depending on you to pray to his guardian angel for me, as I am assuming he only speaks Spanish. Seriously please do pray for this ongoing dialogue. I am afraid in my pathetic Spanish I might say something heretical or drive him further away from the Church. cmaD2006
I just got sent this via Facebook: http://www.catolicosregresen.org/ It is a website with apologetic topics such as confession, Mass, the Pope, etc. I haven't read through it -- but it was recommended by a priest who is the director of the hispanic apostolate at a particular diocese. If the person who you speak to is computer literate give him the link
