kujo
Kujo, you sound great! Good to see you hanging around here (occasionally) again.... Still Praying....
Thanks AL. One day at a time. Things are improving, or at least getting back to our version of normal (eg.- singing entire conversations, wrestling with our cats, planning a wedding we'll never actually be able to afford, etc.). I find that the pain doesn't really go away, you just make room for it. I love her and I know she loves me. This was a battle, and we were not without wounds. But we're blessed to have emerged from it with our lives and sanity in tact. What more can we ask for?
AnneLine
Absolutely, Kujo.... someone once pointed out to me that while recruiting poster Marines attract people to join, the REAL marines will tell you that it isn't about the medals on your chest, it's about the marine who comes out of the trenches, covered in mud, blood and worse... carrying it buddy out because 'we don't leave anyone behind.' Exactly. One of the tasks of mourning, if you will, is not to let GO of someone or something you have lost (or a bad memory, or horrible experience, or whatever...) but to find it a new home inside yourself. You need to relocate that person or thing to a new part of yourself. It's not that you forget them or it... but life has to go on, know what I mean? So I really liked that you could say,
"Things are improving, or at least getting back to our version of normal (eg.- singing entire conversations, wrestling with our cats, planning a wedding we'll never actually be able to afford, etc.). I find that the pain doesn't really go away, you just make room for it."
Seldom have truer words been spoken. Thanks for checking in! And... we done missed you, you know, Bro? FP has just been.... adultish. It's been scary. And MIKolbe is loosing weight.... (go, go, go!) and all sorts of stuff has been happening, and WE WANT YOU AROUND!!!!! Pham is like that..... Now because some things dont change... I gotta go pay bills and do housework. There is no justice in the world....

kujo
I'm actually not interested in a toned down version of FP. I say let your freak flag fly, little bro! Don't let the phroots on Phatmass change who you are; if you want to be a bombastic little know-it-all, I say go for it! We are a phamily, and every family has "that guy"--the guy (or girl) who lectures and pontificates about subjects he/she shouldn't really be talking about. That's you here, and I for one love you for it. Perhaps if you weren't this new squeaky clean version of yourself, I might post more!
