You could try Byzantine Rite.

Giving up on Catholicism, yes. Officially Orthodox, not yet. It was going to happen, but then things came up in life and I wasn't there very much. It has influenced my views for a while as I have been going to Orthodox churches every now and then for a year and a half. Then I missed attending any sort of church a lot this year, stayed a night at a friend's city after a big event I was part of and went to a church by her and the priest asked if I had any other questions. The rest is either history or history repeated. Still looking for cute, single, age appropriate Armenian (or at least Orthodox) men to actually date though.

I appreciate the sentiment, however this is not an option. One, that is too far to drive to. Two, I cannot fully agree with the Catholic church and feel like I might as well be Anglican/Episcopalian outside of the Episcopalian poor morals if I was willing to be Catholic. I'm sorry.

The filoque, purgatory, the different view of papal authority including Catholic inferences based on Matthew 16 and apparent lack of ANF support for this view, the equality of bishops in the Orthodox churches where-prior to the EO/Catholic split it-the first among equals truly was equal, western latter church baggage following the councils in which they separated from the Eastern church being easier to reject from a "protestant" perspective while maintaining church authority, the gentleness of an article I read a while back about how we are saved and the role of the church, the non-legalistic gentleness and healthy attitude of the religious/practicing Orthodox and particularly the Oriental Orthodox that I have met, the Coptic understanding that the Chalcedonian division was a matter of language translation while the ideas are the same (despite the views of some that your view is closer to Nestorianism), an interest in the church history in which our faith was very first founded in and not just its later growth, eastern perspective on theosis and generally a better appreciation of eastern mindsets of faith than Latin ones in a sea of predominantly Roman Catholicism, the approach the history had on the Armenian church outside of the politicizing of the church, heritage.

Question from an idiot: Is the division between the Catholic and Orthodox something Jesus desires?

Joining Anti-Catholic Orthodoxy is silly. "Orthodoxy" is lost and sunk in the mud!
[/quote]

You have a very quote interesting unquote world view.

Then so is my soul, but better sunk in the mud than anti-Orthodoxy like this statement.

We pray for unity in the true faith as you do. Perhaps one day, there will be unity.

Does that mean that the Orthodox Church is the one founded by Jesus and the Catholics split away?
