Just remember, Islam is a religion of peace. It is perfectly consistent with Western values.

Don't you belong to some sort of non-Western, freedom hating race?

Also, why is that one guy wearing skinny jeans?

Telling another nation you consider them an enemy is a smart thing to do?

Worked for Reagan. I don't see the USSR the DDR or the Warsaw Pact around anywhere...do you?

Yeah. That was real bad when those guys killed all those Marines in Libya under Carter's watch. They wouldn't have pulled that poo under Reagan

The Soviet Union didn't collapse under Reagan. Nor did his policies have much to do with the collapse of the USSR. The one real substantive thing he did do to bring about the collapse of the USSR was not actually follow through on most of his hyperbole and recognize Gorbachev as somebody worth reaching out to. He does deserve credit for doing that. Individual like George Will (aka that Owlish twit to Vonnegut readers) in his base chastised him for it and in fact claimed, stupidly, that Reagan had effectively ceded a victory to the Soviets.

External policies didn't have much to do with the collapse of the USSR. But had Reagan been a much more confrontational figure the collapse may well have been delayed as the conservatives in the Kremlin may have been able to better fight Gorbachev's reforms.

I actually wanted to make a joke about the cell phone in the mouth that would have probably gotten me banned.

You have to have a calm stable outlook on things and a smart response; knee jerk reactions are dangerous, especially on this type of thing. That's how a Christopher Stephens becomes an Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

You just don't know how to deal properly with Serbian agitators. Arabs aren't like us. They only understand force.

Uggghhh... I meant to say Serbs. I forgot that when Ferdinand was shot Balkan peoples were also considered unreformable non-westerners and Arabs were considered whites.

The Ambassador's body was found in a hospital and apparently officials are confirming that American forces did not get him there. Additionally, it also seems that is is extremely possible that the group of people seen holding the body are actually the individuals who carried his body to the hospital and not the individuals who attacked the building and murdered the Ambassador. It seems that the Arabic language channels that covered the event from the ground identified in the pictures now being circulated as depicting a bloodthirsty mod dragging the body through the streets observed them as a crowd actually trying to help him after the attackers had fled the scene.

What's the truth? who knows. Libyans did carry him to the hospital. Who knows why. But maybe we should find out before we start just dropping napalm on a large, civilian center. Some people committed a very serious crime and need to be captured but the whole city and country was not complicit.

Not our ally. Not our enemy. Then what are they?

We probably don't know yet. I mean, we're not even positive who is really in charge yet.
