Benedictine Abbey Of Regina Laudis In Critical Need.

Praised be Jesus Christ! Now and forever.

I heard about this this morning. I don't live far from the Monastery; its a beautiful area and they thankfully have so much land and quiet to be able to live their monastic life.

Well I went to their website to learn more about whats going on:

"The Abbey of Regina Laudis is a flourishing monastery and we continue to attract new vocations. This good news, however, is offset by the immediate crisis we face of inadequate and deteriorating housing. The cost of restructuring our building to meet new, stricter fire, safety, and access codes comes to approximately $4 million. This is a critical moment in our history and we can no longer delay action. Without a major renovation project, the Abbey will not be able to welcome women seeking to enter religious life at Regina Laudis or to care for the elderly and infirm in our monastic community. Due to the generosity of friends and private foundations, we are able to begin Phase 1 of the five-year New Horizons Renovation Project."
