I knew dscherck a little bit, we would play Minecraft on a regular basis. His wife posted this to his Google+ account:

This is Katherine, Devin's wife. Devin passed away on Sunday night. He had an enlarged heart and it failed. A memorial service is this Saturday at 2pm. Harundale Presbyterian church in Glen Burnie. Sorry it's been too busy for me to have posted sooner. You can email me at kscherck@gmail.com.

Please pray for his wife and his two children.

This is the first time I saw this!

Oh No!!! I was wondering what was going on with him. This is so sad. Many prayers for his soul, his family, and his friends.

He was a great guy too! He will be greatly missed! Is he the first phatmasser who passed away? :cry4:

I have never heard of Devin, but this is still very sad, especially since he has a wife and kids. I will of course pray for the repose of his soul and for his wife and children in this difficult time. My heart goes out to his wife because she not only has to painfully trudge herself through the grieving process, but then figure out how to support her children by herself. I hope they have a family member or friend who can help in some way.

I never had the pleasure to interact with Dsherck. The post from his blog was especially poignant for me as I have a daughter named annmarie who is getting married next summer. My being 52 now and having experienced some health problems myself I have much the same thoughts this man outlined about his daughter and her future children.

May heaven be his bed, and may Jesus fulfill his promise in the beatitudes for his family " Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted "
