Visiting My Sisters

I am so thankful for the time I have out in the world. I know that there are times when I want to be in the convent at this very minute but I am experiencing things that I probably wouldn't have been able to had I entered already. I'm able to participate in Bible Study and the Catholicism DVD series, spend time with family, travel, continue in school, etc. I am ready and willing to give these up if God asks me to, but I am contented right where I am because it is right where God wants me. I have learned, through almost 5 years of discerning, that you have to allow yourself to accept whatever God is asking of you at the present moment. I have also learned to stop and thank Him for all the gifts I have received. Praise God for the present, praise Him for the past, and praise Him for a glorious future full of hope and promise!

Well, I placed my reservation online for a rental car! I got a good deal from BJ's Wholesale Club's membership page. I admit, it was a little unnerving to hit the "submit" button because I've never rented a car before (and I'm 29). I have an appointment with my therapist tomorrow and then I'm riding home with my mom. Hopefully, she'll drop me at the rental place before we go home. :)

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MY SISTERS! :nun2:

Mary's Margaret

My goodness, MM, you certainly have to work for every step taken! Out of God's amazing generosity, it will surely come back to you one hundredfold. Many blessings during your time with the Sisters and as you go forward with your discernment.

Well, the rental didn't work out. :(

I had no idea that they held a deposit until the car was returned. It was a $100 deposit which I don't have. Fortunately, the woman at the rental place gave me a phone number to call and I'm getting the full amount back without a $50 cancellation fee. I am so upset that this wasn't anywhere on the website. I've never rented a car before so I had no idea they held any money. Apparently, my mom didn't know this either because she was shocked, too.

So, I'm back to square one. I may end up taking the bus tomorrow if I can't find a ride tonight. It just means that I miss Mass and I have to stay much later than the event to wait for a pick-up. :(

Prayers it all works out! You're having a tough time with everything

Thank you. My mom offered to drop me off at the parish before Mass, but it doesn't start until 8:30 and we would be leaving here at 7am so I'd be there VERY early -- before the parish office opens. I asked one of my friends tonight in Bible Study if she could pick me up and I would pay for gas, but she is coming down with a bug and is not planning to attend Mass. So, either I get there too early or not at all. After all this, I'm having second thoughts. Even if I get a ride there, I'm kind of stuck when it comes to getting back home and I need to be back here at 1pm to give my dog her medicine. The bus doesn't pick up passengers until 1pm.

This really smells of elderberries because my Sisters are in town and I can't see them. I sent my pastor an email as a last-ditch effort, but he hasn't responded. :(

Well, I have decided not to attend. My dog had an accident in the house yesterday because she is a senior dog with arthritis. She doesn't have much control over her bodily functions anymore and someone really needs to be with her during the day. It would be different if I had a definite ride there and back (such as my own rental car) but I don't. Please pray for me. This is very difficult to miss since my Sisters are in town and I want to be with them. :(

Praise God! I WAS able to attend the event at Church! My friend, who I thought would be too ill to take me, felt better this morning and emailed me asking me to call her! She picked me up and we made it right before the event started. I was able to meet the Sisters, although I only talked with one of them and I got a picture with her and another friend. There was lunch in the parish hall, too, so we stuck around for that. I just got home half an hour ago. :)

BTW, the Sister I spoke to told me that the Provincial Superior is returning to the States in the first week of October!!! PLEASE pray that she has an answer and that she contacts me soon. If I don't hear from her within a week or two of her return, I'll call her. ;)

SO glad you were able to attend. And October's just around the corner...praying your answer comes with the PS's return.

Thank you both! I am planning to start a novena on September 23rd in honor of St. Therese of Lisieux's feast day on October 1st. She helped me receive an answer when I was trying to get my psych evaluation scheduled. :)

I'm hoping I receive the answer when I'm in town. I just found out tonight that I am indeed going to California again in the 2nd week of October with my mom for at least 3 days. Please keep me in your prayers that I get an answer soon or hear from her after I return. :)
