Arfink Gets Random.

I have so many things to do today. I don't know how I can accomplish it all.

I have to visit the household hazardous waste facility in Blaine to get rid of lithium batteries and florescent light bulbs. My mother is sending me to the St. Paul Flatbread Company to get flatbreads. I have to put together an instruction manual for a new piece of software my company is using by tonight. I have to keep working on a drawing. I'm sleepy and tired. Everyone is home today, and my friend Phil is here too. I turned down my friend Jake on going out somewhere because I have too much to do and a big snow storm is coming.

Poo. :(

Busy?  You are busy?

YOU will get nothing done.  You and God -- now that has some possiblities, and even some excitement!

I realize this might not be totally appropriate for Phatmass (so close your eyes as needed, phrends) but I have never forgotten a quote that someone gave me from Martin Luther (yes THAT one) to the effect that when he thought he didn't have time to pray... he needed to pray.

Yup.

So... whenever I have a day like that ahead of me... and I can feel the phrassle coming... I've learned to just take the 5 minutes to slow down and be with God.  and talk to Him about how to do what and when and how in the right order.  Makes a huge difference....

Hang in there, Bro....

Oh.. and I'm being a :brutebeast: now, but the sun is shining out here... after a week of storms.   Sorry.  I guess we sent them your way.... but they'll be back....

OH, and I should mention one big bright spot: if I go to the St. Paul Flatbread Co and get some of their exceptionally good white flatbread then I can make some of the best pizza ever. :)

Well, I told the Lord he was in charge today. Guess what?

The car ride to the places I had to visit went well. We didn't get lost, and I didn't get carsick. The lady at the flatbread place gave us free garlic sauce with our order because it was so large. I got home and found that someone I know on G+ placed a big order at my website for MTA medallions, and that she's looking to hire a techie. The job description actually SOUNDS JUST LIKE ME, so naturally I sent a resume immediately with my thanks for her order.

Dang. :)

I hate to say Martin Luther was right... but on this, yes he was.  Thank you.

Job stuf SOUNDS EXCITING      :saint2:  :saint2:  :brutebeast:  :saint2:  :saint2:

I KNOW!

The only thing I don't have is being bilingual, with one language being English. But with no job details given I have no way of knowing how hard-coded a requirement that is. Everything else seems to fit: they want a liberal arts major who is a passionate techie, willing to relocate (possibly globally relocation), good people skills, and a fast learner. It would be amazing of course. I figure it's a really long shot, but asking won't hurt, and neither will a nice letter and resume in her inbox.

The sun is nowhere to be seen beneath the blank white sky. The complete cloud cover above merges seamlessly with the snow below, which has the visual effect of removing the horizon and making the sky seem close and smothering. It's as though the ground and the sky and the falling snow are one heavy blanketing mass. Hard to accurately describe if you haven't seen it before.

Indoors it is warm and pleasant, and despite the lack of sunlight my room is very brightly and evenly lit by the stark white drifts below my window.

Spem in alium

Looks like you got a fair dumping of snow! The white sky is quite cool to look at.

Here we have quite a lot of snow. They've declared a storm/blizzard warning and shut down many facilities on campus, including dining and bus. Holed up in my room with the homework, but glad I got to experience my first real snowfall. People have been telling me this is the "real Minnesota" :P
