Colleen
I was listening to a Catholic radio station and it was Joseph Pearce, Scott Hahn, and some others talking about C.S. Lewis (and a little bit about Tolkien). Someone mentioned that when C.S. Lewis was on his deathbed, Tolkien and Tolkien's son, who was a priest, came to visit him. Evidently J.R.R. Tolkien decided to leave Lewis and Fr. Tolkien alone for a while. Fr. Tolkien said that he and Lewis just talked about Literature, but one of the priests said that he thought there was a strong possiblity that there could have been a deathbed conversion, but Lewis just didn't want anyone to know, because it would cause quite a stir. Now, I'M NOT SAYING THIS IS TRUE, but it's a very interesting thought. Anyway, I am looking forward to Christmas 2005, when LWW comes out! I just hope they don't do anything to ruin it. Colleen
This Christmas I am asking 'Santa' for the extended ROTK, then will sit for 9+ hours and watch all the extended versions back to back. Oh joy!
My friends and I have had that planned for the past three years.

crusader1234
Disney could use a good movie to put a plug in the recent vaccum of smell of elderberries its been shoving around theatres lately. Haha, oh well I wont judge a book by its publisher, or a movie by its producers.

luciana
annie Posted on May 20 2004, 07:24 AM Lewis was the most Catholic Non-catholic on earth! I, too, look forward to the movies, but none will ever measure up to LOTR--I try to read the trilogy every year, and the movies are fabulous! This Christmas I am asking 'Santa' for the extended ROTK, then will sit for 9+ hours and watch all the extended versions back to back. Oh joy! My friends and I have had that planned for the past three years.
Annie, the extended Return of the King is going to be 4 hrs. ! so make that a 12 hr. viewing experience Colleen, My sister, cousins, and I watched the first two extended versions and then went to the movies for Return of the King when it came out this past winter; it was a long, but fun day! YAY, I just got the regular DVD, but I only watched some of the special features as I've been busy this past weekend.
