Aloysius
So I went to the RNC (where some serious shennanigans occurred, I was in the center of a big battle over the rules changes that got railroaded through, I'll be posting more about those experiences at http://delegatepa18.blogspot.com ) in Tampa, FL. Then I made some connections and got a job with a group doing campaigning for local stuff across the country (cause I'm not looking to , I went to Kentucky for training, I have been in Kentucky for a week. It was all set up, I'm to go to Montana by Monday. except a couple days ago the University of Leuven finally came through and accepted me for grad school. Now, I'm thinking this is impossible, how are you going to pick up and go to Belgium in 2 weeks? Well, all the other stuff I had lined up for funding and travel and all that apparently was still pushed through... so I've basically had to drop this political gig (which was actually loads of fun I think) and go back to PA to get my stuff together to go to Belgium, I believe school starts on the 22nd. I very nearly ended up with a plan that would have involved me flying out of Montana to Belgium, but alas it looks as if I just won't be going to Montana. Anyway, I hate how all the opportunities come around all at once like that and you have to make decisions. But it looks like I'll be in Belgium for the next 2 years all of a sudden. The only reason to obey those laws is to avoid being thrown in a cage by armed thugs. Drinking laws have no moral authority. But you should obey them to avoid trouble with the thugs. [/quote] I don't actually drink all that often, and when I do it is about a sip of wine or Mike's Hard Lemonade. It's not as if I drink a whole beer bottle (Or even half a bottle) or anything. At my sister's wedding I will be at the head table and I will be given a glass of champagne, which will be my first drink in about a year. I tried to beg for wine since champagne is terrible, but I suppose I will have to drink the acidic poison. Edit: Also, I always make sure that if I do have a sip it is always in a safe area, which is pretty easy since it is usually around holidays with family that I have a sip here or there. Nihil Obstat
A good beer is one of life's simple pleasures. Especially Trappist beer. That stuff is just perfect. 4588686
Am I the only one who finds threads like this where phatmassers talk about their personal lives really obnoxious? Is it really too much to ask for people to bring a modicum of professionalism to their forum posting activities?
