SMMC (Sisters of Mary Mother of the church..Spokane, Washington) The most attractive Marian Blue habits w/ long white veil with a Blue stripe along the edge. Long corded Silver(?) cross

I agree with this one. Though I may be biased! LOL! Their postulant outfit is pretty nifty too.

Yep. I definitely agree with both of y'all :)

I too might be a wee bit biased.

Hey HB and TT, I think I've asked this before, but if you could remind me...do the SMMC celebrate the EF often? Thanks! :)

I've never wanted to be a nun. I told my spiritual father that I would be a nun if I could wear a hood. (I've been wearing hoodies half my life and feel naked without a hood.) Then I discovered the Sisters of Bethlehem. Now it's our joke that they're the "nuns with hoods". Wish I could figure out how to post a photo but I do love their habits: simple and monastic.

Oh dear! I turn my back for a couple of days and every colour under the sun turns up claiming to be better than brown! What's the Church coming to? I have a running discussion with a Benedictine friend about how flattering black is, but he's missing the point - as I keep telling him. The Carmelite habit isn't wonderful because it's beautiful, it's beautiful because it's Carmelite, and as far as I'm concerned that says it all. (In terms of sartorial elegance I admit it may bear some resemblance to a potato sack, but it's still Carmelite and therefore still beautiful). I have a feeling that if I keep going round in these circles I may become somewhat dizzy, so I shall withdraw before vertigo sets in! :hehe2:

Just my own idea..their Grey habit seems to me a tad bit informal. I also think the Poor Clares of Our Lady Of the Angels monastery are very commanding. I guess I lean more towards the Traditional look..and I seem to like that the face and all of one's hair is covered.

Nikita, if you don't mind me asking, what do you mean by commanding? Do you mean that in a good way or a bad way? Sorry, I am pretty clueless. :P

When Cardinal Dolan came to Camp V. this year Sr. Kelly Francis was there (she professed first vows last year) and he made a point to talk to her and see "how she was doing" since her profession. It made my heart melt!

There is a very good reason as to why their habit is grey. The Friars adopted the grey habit because that is the color of the tunic St. Francis wore. The Sisters adopted the same color. :)
