But brown is sooo unflattering!

Really?

Let's agree to disagree. :)

:hehe:

I look awful in brown. I have this weird Latin American skin tone that does not suit brown.

Nah, you're both wrong! The best habit color is BLUE!

My sisters actually wear a dark grey, though the friars wear brown.

I've never wanted to be a nun. I told my spiritual father that I would be a nun if I could wear a hood. (I've been wearing hoodies half my life and feel naked without a hood.) Then I discovered the Sisters of Bethlehem. Now it's our joke that they're the "nuns with hoods". Wish I could figure out how to post a photo but I do love their habits: simple and monastic.

The Congregation of Our Lady of Walsingham have a light blue denim sleeveless dress (jumper I believe Americans call it) with a white long sleeved top underneath and a scapular and hood of the same colour. Although you'd have to move to England. http://www.walsinghamcommunity.org/

Maryknoll was the first habit I fell in love with:

These sisters were founded by a former Maryknoll nun. Notice the similarities in the old habit and their new one, particularly in headdress. Although the new ones are the color of wine.

You know, I remember thinking once how strange it was that their habits looked so similar in shape. Now I know why! :)

At least they speak English, even if they speak it funny. Right now I'm living in France. (Okay, I'm not really complaining: I love French, even though I still have a long way to go.) Anyway, great habits! I love the philosophy behind it, and I love the colors! And I'm enjoying reading their website. Thanks. :)
