ADD, they voted both back in today due to pressure from some christian groups, it took three votes to get the language replaced and when finally passed it was greeted with overwhelming boos.

Thats 5 votes less than it now takes to have a secondary candidate nominated by the RNC

Isn’t it strange that a nation founded on the principles of God is being taken over by a party that denies God’s existence and wants to shun Israel in the back in order to support the Islamists who would kill the Jews and drive them out of the Middle East?”

I think it's interesting that my copy of the constitution nowhere claims that the foundation of the 'nation' are the 'principles of God.'

On what political planet do you reside?

Declaration of Independence (Excerpt)
Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to self-evident, that all men are created equal, and they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights.” “...they certainly recognized where our rights come from - not from government, not from man, but from the creator

Hint: creator = God

I wasn't aware that the Declaration of Independence was the Constitution.

The founders considered your rights to be "God-given" or "natural rights"

So? The also considered blacks to be awful handy when you needed cheap labor. Most of the founders did believe in some sort of God and that He set up some sort of moral and physical order. That didn't make them the theocrat-lites that you intend to imply. And theorizing about metaethics is not the same thing as basing a legal system on 'the principles of God' which was your origional claim that you are now trying to slip out of. Their metaphysics does not form the basis of our law and was not monolithic. Intentions were not ratified, text was. And nowhere does the constitution which was, unlike the Declaration of Independence, actually was ratified by the states, make the claim that any law is based on some mysterious 'principles of God.'
