Women Taller Than Men

I don't know. I'm in formation with a secular institute, which I suppose technically makes me engaged to Jesus. If I'd been thinking about these issues properly I would have whipped out a tape measure at the slab of the anointing and the tomb when I was last in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, just to get some rough idea, but for some reason it didn't occur to me at the time.

As a woman who is 5"10, I have dated one man shorter than me and one only slightly taller. It wasn't a problem. I don't see why it should be.

My own parents have a significant height difference-my mom is average and my dad is 6'3 or so, so I grew up thinking this difference in height was the norm. Then I went to college. Specifically, I went to a college where a lot of home-schooled (read: very nice and somewhat short) boys went.

It would be a little strange to date a guy noticeably shorter than you, but an inch or two should not make or break your perception of them. You can definitely have a personal preference though, and request that God cater to that.

For all those who say height is not a deal-breaker: would you tell her she'd have to date a midget if he was a devout Catholic and fit all her other qualifications?

Ha! I'll prop this tomorrow when my props are refreshed.

..or will I?

Edit: Researchers of The Shroud say Christ was 5'9..highly unlikely for a Semite man of that time, but it's taller than me, so I'll run with it!

Women-would you date someone shorter? How much shorter if yes?

Men-would you date someone taller? How much taller if yes?

Well, I'm currently 5'4 so the odds are already against me. If I do not grow I would not have much of a choice unless I moved to Japan or something. I would prefer to be taller or at least eye-to-eye, but I wouldn't mind if she was taller, I would just prefer if she wasn't seven inches or a foot taller than me or anything. 5'8 or somewhere around there would be fine. Then again, this is all speculation since I am about to be sixteen and I hope that is an indication that I will be growing more. But in theory, yes, I would marry someone taller.

You're 15. You'll probably keep growing, considering that you've only just started into your adolescence and have a good 5 years or so before you're actually grown.

I'm five nine and a (swing) dancer... if it is only an inch or two I would mind dating a guy shorter than me. I never liked wearing heels anyway.

edited because I can't spell.

Just thought I'd add that a couple teaching at my former school have a significant height difference (among others). She is well past 6 feet, maybe 6'5, and he is barely past 5 feet. She is a pale blonde blue eyed giant, and he is a short filipino.

The thing is, I forgot about this couple when I saw this thread, because they just couldn't care less, so no one else cares about it. They are completely confident and at ease with their differences-it is very razzle dazzle to see actually.

I would not date a shorter man than me, or a taller man for that matter. I would not date a taller woman either, or a shorter woman for that matter.

I wasn't saying you were wrong about his continued growth, more like being self-centered. Not all women quit growing at 14. THIS IS MY PITY PARTY -- my 5'2", size-10-shoe pity party. :|

That's because you are afraid of your wife.
