Thank you for the pics! I was so happy to see a picture of an old friend Kendra now Sr Maria Cansius! It is so good to see her looking so peaceful!

How many postulants?
[/quote]

Seems to be 8, from the pictures.

Edit: Not sure how many entered last year, but there are 6 new novices, so it seems that many of the DSMME postulants persevere (know some don't like this word, but can't think of a sub) to the novitiate.

I believe there are 21 postulants. I'm not sure how many new novices there are, but I'd guess it's more than 6.

According to their website there are 14 2nd year novices and 13 1st year novices and the 21 new aspirants. To see the names of the novices just go to the meet the sisters and all of the professed, tempory and novices are listed there. Right now they still have last years postulant group listed under vocations with their stores, but Lisa's class will be up soon I am sure.

Actually there is a new photo of the community on the meet the sisters page with all of the professed, temporary and current novices.

Thank you for the correct information! If I was impressed with the numbers I THOUGHT they had, the actual numbers are extraordinary. They still have a very high 'perseverance' rate.

Thirteen new novices (16 entered as aspirants last August).
Please keep the files below private and don't save any images. Of course there is no rule against posting these pictures, but I would rather these not be spread all over the internet. If you have access to facebook, you should be able to see them. I'll be removing them in a few days.

One of the most touching scenes, which is not in the photos, was when a dozen or so sisters returned from college. As they walked in the door, the sisters that were in the area all went over to excitedly welcome them home. It was a very touching moment and not one you would expect since the rooms were already full of the postulant's moms, dads and siblings milling about, and the sister's attention was already focused on those families. They obviously are true sisters to each other. I've seen this same sisterly love in other religious orders. God is good!

edited to add-21 is right, one was injured in a car accident last week and was not able to enter.

Thanks for posting the picture! Sr. Lisa looks so happy! :) I met her on the Feb. 2012 retreat, so it's really razzle dazzle to see her as an aspirant!

Thank you for the photos! The postulants look almost as nervous as I'm sure they are joyful! I bet their nerves have been much abated by now.
