Katiebobatie94
Okay so here's the thing........sometimes I'm like "God I don't know what you want, and I just wanna go to college and go live on campus and......blahblahblah" and then other times I'm like "God, its whatever you want, I'll do it." Does anyone ever have the same issue? Thanks
Mr Cameron
Yes, and it's completely natural in the discerning process. Do you have a spiritual director? I'd mention it to him if you do.
Annie12
Totally. Yes. Story of my life. One min. I'll be like, "lord, what ever you will, I will!" and then the next min, I'll be like, "but wait a sec! I didn't think about (x) when I said that! I'm sorry Lord!" weather I like it or not I follow the lord, but I usually go in a huff and then realize how amesome he it!
inperpetuity
Yes, and I don't how He's put up with me for so long. If I were Him, thank God I'm not, I would've taken back my invitatiion long ago. But, you know, He is so good, and so patient that when He sees that we are hesitating because of weakness, then He gently encourages us to get to the point where we are ready to give Him everything. This can take some time, though, and sometimes we do have to go on with life for awhile and learn some more before He comes and says, now go. Some he picks very early, others have to wait longer, it's just that His will is different for everyone. I agree that it's good to get a spiritual director who can help guide you. Catholicterp7
Story of my life. I've been discerning for eight years and it's been full of that. I'm pretty sure it's totally normal. JMJ+
Egidio
It is sooo normal. In fact there were so many of my friends with the same problem, that we started a new religious community with the name "The Friars and Sisters of perpetual discernment" !! But the more you pray, go to Holy Mass, do Holy hours, go to confession and pray the rosary, the easier it becomes to say yes on a more permanent basis. Be brave, life is too short to fear God's Holy Will!! AVE MARIA!
FutureCarmeliteClaire
Ahhh, yes. It's normal. I don't know what else to say, because I struggle with the same thing.
InPersonaChriste
I have exactly what you have! Coming to peace with just following God's will is so challenging. I am at the stage where I am realising that my education must be what God wants at the moment. But it is so hard not to think ahead of twenty different things I could do. Not that thinking ahead is bad, but thinking ahead in access is unhealthy. I will keep you in my prayers!

Instead of trusting that His will is perfect i am overcome with fear, and try to take the reins myself. However God is so wonderfully patient with me, and shows me time and time again that Father know best. So you are not alone in this feeling. As others have said, pray. Prayer is where we forge an ever close bond with our beloved, as a result we become more and more open to His will. Prayers for you! edit: i can't spell...... Or perhaps searching around for one that will have the time to help; most of them will be most willing to, if they have the time. Our Lord works best through them to help you. Its very important to have someone be there to guide you during your discernment; I know by experience. I pray that you will find one to help you.
