Our youth groups and choirs etc perform in nursing homes, festivals, in processions etc and can't walk AND sing AND hold sheet music at the same time. We do not multitask well Are you ever required to memorize your parts?

We do perform in nursing homes, but we just bring our caroling pages with us. We also travel together in a large group to several homes of parishioners who are considered shut-ins. We sing to them and hand them a treat from us and wish them well. By the end of the night, you know your part pretty well. Then we have a choir party.
