the171
for a friend. Are there any with the sole apostolate of evangelization and youth ministry? Youth conferences, deep prayer life, pro-life schtuff, and a love of the Eucharist and our Blessed Mother?
HopefulBride
for a friend. Are there any with the sole apostolate of evangelization and youth ministry? Youth conferences, deep prayer life, pro-life schtuff, and a love of the Eucharist and our Blessed Mother?
My future community is primarily focused on evangilation and of course they do that in many ways but heavily involved with Youth Ministry (sodality and youth conferences such Steubie west etc.) They are of course a Marian Community. There is also the Marian sisters of Santa Rosa. I would also point to the Sisters of Life but I don't believe they are heavy on the evangelization/youth stuff. Prayers for your friend as she discerns for a community.

emmaberry
There are sisters (don't know which ones exactly) who work in the media almost exclusively-this would be a youth-oriented apostolate. I think they may be the Daughters of St Paul?
HopefulBride
Yes Emma, I think you are referring to them.
Luigi
Society of Our Mother of Peace - women and men, more contemplative and more active. No particular emphasis on youth, although I should think it would be possible to target younger people for evangelization. I would suggest you look at the Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church. JMJ+

littlesister
If your friend is open to a Praise & Worship style, try the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ first. You described them to a "T".
the171
I'm open to it, but I'd rather not have it in the mass. Just preference. During adoration and outside of mass, perfect!! Just avoid mass. Just preference. Thank you, sister!!
ToJesusMyHeart
\There is also the Marian sisters of Santa Rosa.
Yes! I'm discerning with them. They're very youth-oriented, and do a lot of youth evangelization, along with a pinch of Catholic school teaching. Currently, one sister (the mother superior) is the only one with a teaching position. The others do youth work. From their website: "As consecrated women devoted to Mary, Mother of God and Mother of the Church, we are deeply committed to the mission of her Divine Son Jesus Christ through intercessory prayer, redemptive suffering, radical witness and apostolic works of joyful evangelization. This Mission Includes: * Daily prayer and sacrifice for Priests * The spiritual formation and education of youth * Presentations and retreat talks for parish and school gatherings * Sharing in the full liturgical life of the Church in both forms of the Roman Rite through reverent worship, sacred music and seasonal observances In all our apostolic works we find our strength and inspiration in contemplative prayer, especially before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. We ask Our Lady to share with us her love which enables us to offer our lives every day for Christ, and to cooperate with Him in the salvation of the world." As HB said, the Marian Sisters are....oddly....uber Marian: "To live more perfectly our baptismal vocation from which springs our call to religious life, we consecrate ourselves entirely to Mary Immaculate using the method of St. Louis Marie de Montfort. Our practice of total consecration to Jesus through Mary is an imitation of Christ's dependence on His mother. Since Jesus Christ the Incarnate Word chose to come into this world through Mary, we follow His example of loving dependence upon her whom He chose to call mother. We take Mary as our model and our way to Jesus, and seek each day to make our consecration a lived reality." And lastly, "As Marian Sisters we are animated by a desire to magnify Jesus Christ in and through our lives of consecration to Mary. We strive to communicate the truth, goodness and beauty of the Catholic Faith through our works of joyful evangelization while living the fullness of the Church’s liturgical life." -http://mariansisters.com/ I hope you don't mind all the information. :-)
