emmaberry101
Hello, My mom takes an elderly man to Mass every day. We recently learned from his sister that he is living in mortal sin. He receives communion at every Mass and will not go to Confession with her. Should she continue taking him to Mass? Thanks!
CatherineM
A lot of people will disagree with me, but it isn't really up to us to decide if someone is committing a mortal sin or not. That's between this individual and their confessor and their own consciences. Besides, not attending mass on Sunday is also a sin, so she's helping him not sin one day a week. My mom lived the last 26 years of her life with a man she wasn't married to. Lots of people considered it living in sin, but they lived platonically. I truthfully didn't want to know one way or the other. Not a question you want to ask your mom. Exposing this man to daily mass can only help, not hurt.
