I usually avoid anime with the weird Japanese version of nuns. :P

I saw one show just lately though where the guy ended up becoming a Catholic priest at the end. A real one. Not some vampire hunter or warrior or something. That was pretty razzle dazzle.

Sakamichi no Apollon, Kids on the Slope. It's set in mid sixties Japan, about two high school kids who get involved in the growing jazz scene. It was an excellent show, highly recommended.
