Clown Mass (yes, It's Real But At Least The Eucharist Was Present)

2). What is your point/problem. You say that you have problems with people bringing up that the Eucharist is present. If I recall you were the first to mention clown masses. People pointed out that one mass was not holier than another. But no one denied problems in that thread. Yet you have created a thread that seems to be mocking anyone who said that. AND causing others to have to (for lack of a better word) defend clown Masses which is something that I am sure NO ONE here wants to do. Which may be why you have had no success in dialogue. That takes a willingness on your part as well which I do not see you displaying.
First of all sister I want to apologize to you or anyone that I have offended. I re-read my post in this thread and personally do not see anything I felt was too agressive or mocking. I thought perhaps you are referring to the subject title of my thread but that was something to gain attention and succinctly state my premise, call it a poor and amateurish journalistic ploy.

I honestly don't have a "problem" with someone referring to the Eucharist, my point is to challenge the idea that externals and form don't matter. If the argument is that since Jesus is present externals are insignificant how can you criticize a clown mass? In this sense I am challenging Catholics of a certain view point to defend their position and sometimes an extreme of this sort has to be used to make the point clear.

Many phatmassers would jump at the chance to have a thoughtful and intelligent discussion about changes in the liturgy. Finger pointing and mockery do not facilitate that at all.

What made you feel like I was being mocking or pointing fingers?

I am not ignoring this. I'm on a phone an that makes it difficult to use the quote function. And to make long answers. If I am in a place soon with Internet I will answer you. Until then, I can't do much.

This is not from the actual mass. Don't know if pics were taken at the mass. This photo is "an artist's rendering of what Pirate Mass might look like".

“Pirate Mass,” Sturdy says with a confident smile. ”Everyone knows of the outrageous success the Episcopal Church has enjoyed through things like the “Clown Mass” (click here to see the clown mass). The Episcopal Church has shown that what seekers, especially young people really crave is an experience of God in the Clown Mass. But times are a changin’. Trinity prides itself on being on the cutting edge of outreach and evangelism and to be quite frank, I think Clown Mass has seen its day. The next big thing will be the Pirate Mass.”

I have not read the comments before and I just re-read the post. I am thinking perhaps this is a satire poking fun at the clown mass church. If it is serious, YIKES!

Tsk tsk tsk.
Look at the post date.

South Carolina Anglicans/Episcopalians are unequivocally the most conservative in the country. At the recent General Convention of the ECSA, the South Carolina delegation walked out upon the acceptance of the rite to bless gay unions.
The constant railing against Anglicans/Episcopalians - while valid for some of the more radical parts of that particular religious group, like Trinity Wall Street - is largely inaccurate and gets old. It does nothing to further the cause of reunification, and really only serves to make those who propagate it seem uninformed at best or prejudiced at worst. While they may be in error, there are devout believers in the Anglican tradition who seek the Truth in earnest.

I don't think t.here is a single person here who say that form and externals don't matter at all. I think you're arguing with a strawman buddy.
