Pax domini bretheren,sympathiesers and others...
So i was walking the dogs today and thinking upon the 4th sorrowful mystery when the lord jesus is to carry the cross to calvary and falling three times. And this got me to thinking how in life we are journeying with our cross and let us call the cross temptation, and further on in my thinking i was posed with this of how we over time are learning to carry the cross of temptation and there are many falls for most untill they learn how to carry the cross with the help of a good friend, like simeon carried jesus cross after jesus fell 3 times, and eventually where we give it all to GOD like jesus did and even temptation flees, into your hands i commend my spirit. What do you all think and/or feel on the matter.

Onward christian souls.
JESUS iz LORD.

St benedict. "prefer nothing whatsoever to christ."

Though Jesus didn't fall due to temptations, I think you have a good point about how his burden of having to carry the cross can relate to us in our lives.

There are many crosses in life where sometimes we we need a "Simon" to help us carry the cross when it gets just too heavy.

I also wonder how this would relate to the church as a whole. I heard somewhere that the Church through history will go through a "passion" in mirror to Christ's passion. Has anyone else heard anything like this?

In response to your final paragraph:

Catholic Catechism:
The Church's ultimate trial
675 Before Christ's second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers.[sup]574[/sup] The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth[sup]575[/sup] will unveil the "mystery of iniquity" in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.[sup]576[/sup]

676 The Antichrist's deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism,[sup]577[/sup] especially the "intrinsically perverse" political form of a secular messianism.[sup]578[/sup]

677 The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection.[sup]579[/sup] The kingdom will be fulfilled, then, not by a historic triumph of the Church through a progressive ascendancy, but only by God's victory over the final unleashing of evil, which will cause his Bride to come down from heaven.[sup]580[/sup] God's triumph over the revolt of evil will take the form of the Last Judgment after the final cosmic upheaval of this passing world.[sup]581[/sup]

Artist: Josh Garrels - album: Love, war and the sea inbetween "The revolution will not be televised. " Maybe television is the anti christ bringing false peace to people, or possibly it is the image of the beast spoken about in the book of revelation ?

The Catechism is pure poetry. The only book I love more is the Bible.

Left to our human resources, it is scary; however whatever trial actually presented to us personally (and as The People of God), Grace is far greater and can overcome every time and we can have absolute confidence always in this. Hence while these times are quite humanly frightening, the times are also a time of the total Victory of Jesus over evil in all its forms. I do pray for those who will live through these times.
