Any help would be good.

I wanted him here after Ike to HELP, not for a photo shoot. We had debris piling up along state roads for weeks because FEMA contracted with the city to remove debris, but the contract didn't cover state roads. The city was warned not to pick debris along state roads or face federal blah blah blah blah. If our representative to Congress pretended to give half a croutons, things might have gone better. It works for Queen Sheila.

You mean freak out in front of everyone and garner more government control? Yeah, I'm near her district. It's a shithole.

Oh good floopy. First I get likes from USAirways and now Winchester? Before I know it I'll be a commercial airplane pilot that breaks national flight laws in protest to the government.

Don't screw it up.

Somehow I doubt you would know how Winchester and USAirways are in that arena, whatever your fantasies may be.

I'd like for Ron Paul to represent his district. The federal government and state government have conspired to force the city to rebuild concentrated public housing - in his district. He has done nothing. (I don't agree with Queen Sheila's actions, I used her as an example of someone who pays attention to her district.)

Adrestria, like it or not, the people of your district elected Ron Paul with full knowledge of his record and his political opinions. Stop complaining that he actually acts the way he says he'll act when he gets elected, we need more honest politicians like that. Sorry if you don't like it, but that's the guy your fellow citizens voted in again and again, they fully knew he believes that individuals and local governments can and should take care of themselves without big brother federal government coming in to help. He does generally allow for some of what the taxpayers of his district pay into the federal government to come back to his district (which has been used as an attack against him at times with the earmark discussion), but he doesn't in any way try to make his district dependent upon the Federal government to clean up and rebuild after natural disasters. Your city SHOULD be doing its own rebuilding, as much as is possible.

you might as well be complaining that Nigel Farage is not doing enough as an MEP to get Euros accepted in the UK's southeast counties. I mean, why doesn't he pay attention to his district? gosh!

Way to attack someone for speaking their mind about their representative. So she maybe disagrees with the majority of her district. So what?

she seemed to be arguing that Ron Paul was just "not paying attention" to the district. I simply corrected her that Ron Paul has always been clear about his positions and the people of her district elected him to do just what he does, which includes opposing the kinds of federal assistance that she is calling for.

she has every right to speak her mind about her representative. I am speaking my mind back to her. She's entitled to her opinion and I'm entitled to disagree with her, because what is so bad about a city handling its own rebuilding and clearning up efforts after a natural disaster? I simply don't get it.

Re-reading, I don't exactly see what your defensiveness in response to my post is all about... "way to attack her"? I mean, she posted political opinions, I posting opposing political opinions, I didn't think anything was uncivil about that. I say she should not complain about Ron Paul doing exactly what he was elected to do, she's entitlted to support a candidate who would do what she wants in other elections, but complaining that Ron Paul follows through on the rhetoric that gets him elected as if he's just "not being attentive" to his district or implying some incompetence is just not true.

So, yeah. What I want from Ron Paul is for him to apply his principles to his district.

That's what we are trying to do. The federal government is meddling big time.

Right after the hurricane the city wanted to clean up the streets, the federal government wouldn't allow it.

Now I want Ron Paul to at least try to stop the federal government from forcing us to rebuild public housing projects.

I want Ron Paul to do what he says - I just want him to do it here!

I don't like cursing. I like to use the fiddler words of Phatmass because they are a great substitute. "Croutons" is my personal favorite.
