i<3franciscans
I recorded a few talks on my ipod and they have this annoying ring in them... Any ideas as to how I can get rid of it without spending a ton of money??? Thanks.
Nihil Obstat
Have you tried a different set of headphones?
dUSt
You'll need a sound editing program. If the ring is high enough in pitch, you should be able to simply turn down the highest frequency without effecting the vocals.

MissScripture
This is a free, open source program that I've used in the past for minor sound editing projects: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ It might work for what you need? CatholicCid
Audacity is probably one of the better free versions. Once you download it, open the sound file and find an area where there is the high pitch ring, but no other sound. You can then highlight that area, have it recognize it and then remove that entirely from the recording.
Winchester
Turn it up really loud until it damages your hearing in that range. Problem solved.
