Favorite "strange" Prayer Intentions?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if anyone else has weird prayer "fetishes" like I do. I like praying for the following:

1) Total strangers, like whoever's in the cars creeping by me in traffic.
2) People no one else is praying for.
3) "Unloved" people, "unlovable" people, "forgotten" people, etc.
4) Judas.
5) People I really, really dislike.
6) "The top 10 people in the world who most need prayer right now".

Does anyone else do stuff like this?

Also, am I the only one who sometimes procrastinates in PM when I ought to be praying?

I pray for people in wrecks I pass.
I pray for the people who are remembered by the crosses alongside the road.
I pray for people in ambulances.
I pray for people in firetrucks and the people they may help.
I pray for poor drivers that they get home safely and do not kill anyone or themselves.
I pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
I pray for people I hear about on the radio or tv, like a man was shot downtown today, or 1 person died on route 42 wreck etc.
I pray for the sick people I see or the ones who names or pictures are on fliers or jars in stores asking for donations.
I pray for my family all the time.
I pray for customers of mine that have passed away telling God they were decent souls who treated me well, trusted me and hired me.

This is Great!!

I bless the youth i see on the street; say a prayer for all the deaths i hear about, where ever they may be in the world; i particularly like to pray for all those whose names you find on stain glass windows, chalices, on the ends of church pews etc; and now i think i will add all your ideas as well.

I also like to pray for all those entrusted to my care, past, present and future!!

AVE MARIA!!

1.) When I'm on public transport, I say a prayer for each person who is in my bus/train carriage. If it isn't too crowded and my journey is long enough I pray the Our Father and the Hail Mary for all the passengers, one by one. If it's crowded I downgrade them all to a Glory Be each. :P

2.) I make the sign of the cross and offer a Glory Be whenever I hear the siren of an emergency vehicle, and again while I'm passing hospitals. Then I add: "Mary, health of the sick, comforter of the dying, and spring of life, pray for us."

3.) I pray for homeless people whom I pass, and ask God to show me a way that I might help them if possible.

4.) I pray for people whom I dislike or who have hurt me/really pissed me off. (I don't think this can be classed as anything weird - Jesus commanded this, we all should be doing it.) I ask Him to show me what He loves in that person, so that I can love them too. I also ask Him to help me get over myself if I'm being unreasonable about them.

5.) I pray for people who have never in their lives been prayed for by name, except by their guardian angels and the saints.

6.) I pray for people I hear about in the news.

7.) Each day I take a Facebook friend (perhaps a school acquaintance I haven't seen in literally years) and pray specially for them.
