Annie12
Here Annie12, this is for you:
YES!!!!!! I LOVE this!!! Also, in remembering the beginning of my discernment 3 years ago, I had so many feelings that it was unbearable. I was so caught up in the feelings of Christ's love that I didn't handle it very well. But now I am older and wiser and can understand that I must follow wherever he leads me. I don't have the same feelings as I did at the beginning of my discernment ( thank goodness. I just wanted to be with Christ that I didn't want to do anything else besides that because it would be literally painful to my soul. It was crazy). Right now I am pretty sure he is calling me to the Sisters of Life, but if for some reason that changes I will understand and still follow where he leads. Just another thought, he is leading every Christian to prepare the way of his second coming! I think that is so beautiful! Even if his coming is in 1000 years, as Christians, if we follow his will, we participate in the preparation for his coming! I dunno, I just think that's really razzle dazzle!!! Annie12
Another thing I was just thinking about was that I need to be very careful about feelings I have for guys based on looks and such because I think that is what lead me away from my vocational path. There is especially this one famous guy that is quite gorgeous and have to be careful in knowing that his gorgeousness is just because of God's amesomeness. Otherwise, I could get too wound up in attraction instead of God's call. God is before feelings!!!! Yay! Other people have issues with this right? While it's important to keep custody of the eyes, you should develop a healthy respect for the opposite sex. It's OK to think a guy is handsome because God made him that way, but it's important not to turn them into idols. That's what I think happens with many girls who become infatuated with boy bands or male actors like Robert Pattinson. I know, for me, I was stuck on Backstreet Boys and *NSync in my teens. I also grew attached to Gerard Butler, Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, Ewan McGregor, Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, etc. After my reversion, that attachment lessened and is no longer around. I was turning them into idols and it wasn't healthy. It's disrespectful to God who is due our full attention. Like I said, though, you need a respectful relationship but you don't need to go crazy by avoiding all contact -- in fact, many communities will have the psychologist issuing the evaluation what your relationship is with men before you apply to enter.
