I've heard this picture is why so many people think Saul got knocked off a horse, when, in fact, the Bible says nothing of a horse. Is that true?

While I love this picture, it hangs in my former school, which is very anti-Catholic. They took pains to let all the students know that it was done by a Protestant.

Yes, the Bible does not mention a horse. The horse theory came about because Saul was on a long journey that scholars thought would be hard to do on foot. However, the passage clearly states that Paul's companions were standing. It would not have made sense for Saul to be on a fast horse while the rest of his group traveled on foot.[/background][/size][/font][/color]

Nope, this is father Axel Weil SJM, a German priest who was send to the diocese of Toulon in France by his superiors. He works there as "pastor of the night", visiting clubs and bars to talk with the young people when they go out. The first picture is his house chapel where he celebrates Mass at 6.00AM before going to bed :)
