CatherineM
I've been attending the national convention of the Catholic Women's League of Canada this week. It is our 100th anniversary and since we started in Edmonton, the convention was here this year. Every council and diocese has a spiritual advisor. The National one is always a bishop, the rest are mostly priests. Yesterday after the spiritual advisor's lunch, a priest from Nova Scotia dropped dead in the bathroom at the convention hall. I'm not going to post his name in case they haven't released it yet. They think he might have gotten a blood clot from the long flight that let loose all of a sudden. We saw Archbishop Currie be called out of the meeting, but I thought he was going to take a phone call, not to give last rights. We were just kind of stunned. I mean we needed to continue with the meetings because women are here from all over the country. We did a rosary and a mass, but it just seems so surreal. Nola Seminarian
Oh Mother of the Word Incarnate, take, we pray, this priest, who, by the grace of Holy Orders, was conformed unto the priesthood of your Son up to His heavenly throne so as to live with The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost for ages unto ages .
