Prayer Support For Medical Meeting For My Mil

This is a special prayer request for RIGHT NOW.

Please pray for my husband, M, and his sisters and for their mother, C. The family are going into a family conference with the hospital people right now... the purpose of which will be to decide the next options for their mom.

As I think many of you know, C has been diagnosed about 6 weeks ago with Stage 4 Cancer. The doctors still aren't sure where it started, but they know it has spread throughout her body.... so it is kind of a moot question of what is coming.

She's already had two surgeries (to remove blockages from the cancer along her stomach) and now she is simply refusing to eat. The doctors don't know if it is physical, psychological, or both.... but they have told the family that it is now to the point that unless this changes, the only choices the family has is to take her home, bring in hospice, and let her die at home.... or to insert a feeding tube and deal with the dying point at some point in the future.... .

C can be VERY stubborn, and I think she's partly refusing to eat because it is the only control option she still has. She is refusing to discuss or admit to death as an option (we think she thinks that God will give in the way everyone else has when she has gotten stubborn all her life. And Lordy, this lady knows STUBBORN! (I think most of you know who Judge Judy is..... that is one of her favorite TV programs, and we think that is what she wants to be when she grows up.....)

C has been anointed several times (because I and Mike insisted) but she is refusing the Blessed Sacrament because she thinks 'that is for people who are dying' (well, it isn't, but you, are, C....)...

So pray. Pray that the family makes good and holy decisions, and that she has enough time to make some connection with God before she dies. And that I may be able to be of service to her, to my husband, and the rest of the family over the next few weeks.
