Although this book is a very good book, I do remember it having some pretty strong protestant undertones. I really can't give specifics as I haven't ready it in years and years, but just remember that it isn't Catholic based thinking when reading it :). I've read 3 books by the author I think, and all were beneficial to me.

As for a twenty minute audioclip, that's typically much easier to take in then even a 10 minute article as you can put it on your ipod or play it on your computer while cleaning house etc. I need to put more of their stuff on my ipod and listen to it more frequently. I can't look at what KofC linked to (at work), but I do remember one audioclip of theirs I listened to that I thought was a little more puritanical than necessary. I.E.: Don't ride in a vehicle with your significant other alone, don't go on dates alone, don't hold hands. The background the priest gave as to why though was very very good and really gets you thinking of what you should or shouldn't do and why. I think that's what I liked most about the clip.

It really is more about the why than the what, within reason. Assuming we're starting from a basic understanding of Catholic 'ground rules', what dating turns into is less a list of prohibitions and more a set of guiding principles, and questions one needs to ask him or herself. It's easy enough for someone to say "a kiss shouldn't last more than five seconds", but that's pretty arbitrary and doesn't really address the more important subject, "what is kissing for? Why do people kiss? Does that situation demand particular caution for reasons X Y and Z?"

Audio Sancto doesn't give the names of the priests. To them its more about the message than the name who gives it. The sermon was about dating. Time is relative 20 mins is too long for some too short for others. And most anything under the sun is debatable.

LOVE that this thread doesn't really pertain to me since I'm not planning on dating now that I have found my Vocational path! I guess you could say I'm taken by God. :saint2:

Nah- you know me and believe me, I take the prize on fickle. ;)

Just so you know, discernment is sometimes a longer process for some. In God's time. Speak with a spiritual director though. Your discernment is sacred ground and should be entrusted to someone who is wise, knowledgeable, and compassionate. (According to St Francis de Sales)
