If you mean, one can rely on them to know the bible well, this is because, for Protestants, the bible is their only rule of faith. Therefore, they are encouraged from the time they are very little to read the bible often, to memorize the canon of their bible, and to quote the bible to others. They don't have Sacred Tradition or the Magisterium (the teaching office of the Church). The bible is all they've got, so it makes sense that knowing the bible well would be very important to them. As for what makes their bible different from ours, basically, they're missing 7 books (Sirach, Tobit, Wisdom, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, and Baruch) as well as additions to Daniel and Esther.
