IcePrincessKRS
Dells have honestly been the most reliable PC brand I've ever used. I spilled a glass of wine on my laptop about a month after I bought it. It still works perfectly.
Figures you'd have already looked. I'm sure your Dell will be just fine for you. I don't buy them because I have had to do hardware repair work on them in the past, and they're terrible to work on.
I haven't had issues with them, either, but I know some people who have - and all of those problems began pretty much right out of the box. Right now I'm on an older Dell desktop and it runs great (especially now that I'm not running Windows on it...) I also had a 2nd hand Dell laptop, which lasted me 3+ years from the time I got it in 2008, and I believe it was assembled in 2001-2002. So, Futep, if you didn't get a lemon, you've probably got a great machine to run for a lot of years if you treat it right.

PhuturePriest
I don't even get an allowance... Why do I deserve an allowance? My parents already pay for my food, housing, schooling, etc.
Yeah. I don't get an allowance either. I only get paid if I work, and sometimes I don't because money is tight. I don't feel as if I deserve getting paid for all of the reasons you state, though.
MissScripture
A friend of mine worked for Dell for a few months back in 2009. He said that if you look up the parts you want at newegg, total the price and multiply by 4, that's the price they were selling computers at. I can't imagine it's changed much since then.
And that's why my Nerdy husband built our desktop himself.
