Rosary making. There are lots of different styles which all require a bit of knowledge in creation, but none are really that difficult (well, I'm having trouble with figuring out the Orthodox Prayer Rope knot, but that's mostly due to material deficits, not problems with the actual knot).

Also, people love to get rosaries as gifts, and I have to say, they're just as fun to give.

It doesn't hurt that some people are willing to pay for them as well.

And how am I supposed to carry a paintball gun and attempt to hide/run? :|

Just stand still and shoot the snot out of him as he runs away. I think that's fair.

Not especially ... I like visual arts, but I'm not very good at it.
Bah, go to your local art supply store, buy a large bristol pad, one of those sets that come with various mediums and commence to exploring what you can do. Too many people get hung up on their abilities or lack of and then never discover that doing art is more than just making representations of objects or making socio-political statements.

Painting is fun!!!
This!
But I don't really have the dexterity to make anything decent. Haha.
Not this!
My local community college actually has something called Clay College which is all pottery.

I like beautiful things. Nature photography might be fun. I don't have a SLR camera or anything, but I don't really need one.
This!

that's the fun thing about art - you make want you want to make. i'd encourage you to see if your cc has a course in introductory art or intro painting or something like that.
This.
A good course will teach you color theory and the technical aspect of using media properly, for example, not mixing oil paints with acrylic or mixing lean on fat causing cracks (trust me this is a bad thing) . A bad course will create clones of the instructor, for example, if Bob Ross is your only guide to painting , you will just produce happy trees and never form your own voice. But you don't need to take a course to get started. See my first response above.

You could probably do painting if I could learn it. I think.
Bah, she can do it, plus painting is a never ending learning process.

I stink at art, but I like to try anyway, I was into sumi-e for a while (as you might have seen in my facebook photo albums).
This is the spirit!

sheesh, I sound like a hippie art teacher.

Look, I like to encourage people, no matter what they believe about their artistic aptitude, but I'm not an art relativist, I do believe there is bad art and artist, but that mostly has to do with philosophical reasons, pretentiousness, bad execution, bad compositions, intent, stuff like that. Most folks haven't reached this level of croutons yet.

If you have an interest in anything artistic go for it, no one masters anything instantly. If after a while you realize that art isn't your thing and that you are truly bad at it, and people are so offended by it that they chase you down in mobs with torches and pitchforks, try something else.
I would suggest long range marksmanship but I don't think NJ has any long ranges.
:)

I'm talking about ensemble singing, either with the CCC chorus, the parish, or something else (like Greater South Jersey Choir, but that's super ambitious).
Wow yea that sounds even better than what I had in my head. And if you were leaning in the group direction, something else to think about would be joining something like Cumberland Players.

I certainly understand your concern, and Ice's idea works pretty well, but there's also different types of games, depending on your style of play. My favorite is something to the effect of a siege, where one team is in a 'castle' and defends it from the other team trying to get in. The castle has set sniper points or a type of sniper loft and it always pays to have someone sit there. Defenders only get one life and attackers go back to the farthest point if they get hit and get to start again. There's really no way for the defenders to win, you just fight to the last man.

But again, there's nothing binding here, just saying that it could work if you wanted it to.

You could become a part time Cthulhu Cultist? I'm pretty sure Jersey Shore already counts as one of the signs of his awakening and creating madness.

You, my friend, are now trying too hard. :console:

I would love that. There's really nothing more I'd rather do. But unfortunately when you audition for a show you make a huuuuge time commitment that I just can't do as long as I work nights.

Native American bead work...there are several techniques that all produce wonderful results...it's like painting with beads it takes time and patience, but it is a wonderful feeling to finish a project. I would suggest loom beading as the easiest if you are concerned about skill level although none of it is too difficult to pick up. If you want something to approach historical New England I would suggest wampum or double needle appliqué.

Other hobbies I enjoy are brewing and wine making
Book making/ binding
Carving
Cooking
Rock Climbing
Sewing
Crochet
Black and White photography and development

Any of these I could help point you to resources if you are interested.
