Okay... if she's 81, it's probably safe to guess that she became a nun by or during the 50s. I wonder what the young novice of the 50s would say to the [mod] self edit... too mean.... woman [/mod] of 2012....

I've seen Hasan, USAirways and Winchester edited by moderators many a time, but I must say, this is the first time I have ever seen a self edit by a moderator.

When it comes to the actual point of the thread, I'm choosing not to watch the video and instead listen to Barry Manilow. Could It Be Magic won't incite violent thoughts.

Pray for her.

I don't think she ever was a nun, just the keynote speaker for the event. I really worry that she is mentally ill.

Yeah, she's not a nun, from a brief look on her website I get that is that she is an authority on something called Conscious Evolution and futurism.

Usually we just don't make it quite so obvious. :saint:

I couldn't follow it well, either; none of it makes much sense.
It sounds like she is speaking of the universe as having a collective consciousness and all being one, as though we are little parts of the same being...and she talks as though if we think about how we want to evolve, we will evolve into just that...and a bunch of other freaky New Age nonsense. The gist of it is that she thinks the universe and everything in it is god.

From what you're describing it sounds a lot more like Sufism which is definitely not "New Age", but rather a mystical subsect of the Shia sect of Islam.

Although I guess a lot of New Age people might be inspired by the Sufis.

EDIT: I just watched a couple minutes. Yep, definitely some weird New Age something. No real Sufism ties whatsoever except for at the most basic level.
