I got some very important input. I think I should plan on doing a smaller MN meetup this fall, in October.

Pro: Flights are cheaper, snow will not be on the ground. Con: Lame Public Schooled kids unlike FP are out of luck.

Of course a smaller informal thing would be much easier to plan and have than a 4 day mega party like the one that happened in Pitt.

Right now I am looking at the last week of October so we could hang out on Halloween. :)

Well, we're not decided yet. Trisha thought it would be a great time.

Bahaha. Rule #1 of dating: Never throw your girlfriend under the bus. Not that I would know anything about dating, though.

I am ok with whenever, since its a 2 hr drive for me. But I like the idea of Halloween, because then I can dress up John Paul. Lol

Yeah, I'm not sure what in the world is going on with my life right now. lol... A lot of things are up in the air. Until yesterday, that included my head being in the clouds, but I've been grounded since and had to face some realities that I had been choosing to ignore in all my recent excitement. I would love to be living there in October, but of course I have no idea what's going to happen between now and then; there are tons of 'ifs.'

At the very least, I could probably do the same as many of you are planning and fly out for a visit. I think that'd be a great birthday present, which normally I'd never ask for, but if people ask what I want this year I think I'll be a bit less shy because I *really* want to meet any of you who can make it. :) If another week is better, I can probably pull that off as well, especially if it's at a later date. I know most people are really busy during Christmas break, but I also know that many college students get probably a month or more off from school, so maybe that would work better despite the potential for some nasty weather.

Which brings me to accommodations: It would be a good idea, I think, if we get enough people coming to town, to check out the possibility of renting a house in the area for a week. Most that I've seen have fireplaces which would make it super cozy if we do this in late fall/winter. I looked it up and we could sleep 8-12 people (and probably many more if people don't mind sleeping on air mattresses or the floor) in most of the houses that offer weekly rates. If we had 10 people, they would each be paying about the price they would pay for 1-2 nights at a hotel, and if their schedules allowed it, they could stay an entire week. Plus, we'd all get to hang out in one place. Just an idea to consider especially for those of us who don't want to spend lots on airfare just to come out for two days.

Once we get a better idea of the date and who can make it, I'll keep an eye out for 'Groupons' and such that might help as well.... for accommodations, places to visit, etc. (Though I'm sure we can find lots of free things to do as well.)

Anyway... everybody think on it, pray on it, whatever you need to do, and let us know some times in the next several (6? 8?) months that might work for you so maybe we can work something out. :)

I think this is the best idea yet.

Any out-of-towners care to comment?

Well, maybe you can come down and see us in October as well, even if that's not the "official" hangout... assuming I make it there for October, one way or the other.

I just realized that I may or may not have a wedding to attend on Nov. 2nd. So, don't do it then. (It's a Friday)

Maybe we can do it the weekend before Halloween, then, if it's mostly locals at the one in October...
I can't make that date.

Well, we can just do it in the middle of the week.
That would interfere with my job.
